Great shot. Love the colors. More importantly though where do you live that there are wild turtles in a forest lol
Thanks Jefe! I'm glad you like it.
The real question is, where isn't there wild turtles? I've always assumed turtles of various sub species live all over the United States. I have always taken them for granted as they are very common anywhere you go here on the east coast.

The colors are totally in the scene and the turtle - love it.
I wonder how in his face you could have gotten?
Cheers,
Jeff
Thanks Jeff! Glad you enjoyed it.
I scared him when I was setting up my camera and plastic bag to lay on (rained the night before) and actually waited close to an hour for him to open back up (box turtle) so I could get a nice shot of him but this is as much as he was willing to come out while I was laying there in his face.
Yeah yeah... would have been nice to have been able to use a 100-400II but I don't have one of those.
Oh! Is that rain I hear!?

Great shot, I do love turtles.
Thanks for the kind words George! I've always loved them as well. My granddaughter found an even prettier one several hours later yesterday that had gotten in our pool. It was a good thing she found it or it would have drowned by the time I would have found him.
BTW, I had shot a set of cool mushrooms just prior to finding this guy and was going to submit them as my entry this week. Great minds think alike!

Thank you for the kind words Birdie! Those yellow leaves really helped him blend in. I almost didn't see him. Thankfully I was walking our puppy and she found him for me.
