My wife drew my attention to this caterpillar, which was on the compost, in a flowerpot containing a foxglove plant. I shot frames with my Printing Nikkor 105mm at f11 and also with my Kiron 105mm at f11 and f16. TTL twin flash was used, the camera in manual mode.
The larva had two speeds: stop and full speed. Getting close-up shots when it was on the move was very difficult. Backgrounds/substrates were a foxglove leaf, concrete or outdoor matting.
The first four images were through the Nikkor, the others through the Kiron. All were hand-held.
