At the beginning of July I did a 4 day backpacking trip in Yoho National Park. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend hiking the Iceline Trail in Yoho, it's simply spectacular. Anyways, this shot was taken at sunrise on the last day of our trip, with Wapta Mountain reflecting off Yoho Lake. Any critiques would be much appreciated!

Bill Peyto would have been proud of this shot. Does the ice cave still exist at Yoho Glacier?

Nicely done and I love the way you handled the moon.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm not too sure if it still exists or not, we didn't take the Yoho Glacier Trail on this trip. Maybe on a future trip.

Thanks for the comment Ben. The moon was a little challenging to get looking proper, glad you liked it.

I like it. Nice color/reflection/details.

If I were to critique anything I think the left sides needs an anchor tree/rock to stop the eye from sliding left out of the picture.

Thanks for sharing. Scott

Lovely, serene, shot. I was wondering about the shiny 'pebble' in the foreground right until I realised it was the moon's reflection

Cheers, thanks Frogfish. The moon's reflection was a little difficult to work on there, not sure if it should have been a bit lighter or not.

Nice work on this, Markus. The moon reflection is a challenge. The left cloud wisp is not reflected which opens, IMO, the option of also not including the moon reflection- artists's choice. Agree with the Scott that ideally there should be more balance on the left, not sure if including more of the cutoff rock formation would have helped. Nevertheless, it is a very pleasing picture.

Thanks for the critique. I think I chose to include the moon's reflection as it definitely was noticeable, both while I was there and in the image before I enlarged the moon. It was a challenge getting it right, but I think it turned out ok. As for having more balance on the left, I agree. Would have been nice to have a wider lens to get it, but I guess I could have stitched a second shot too. Thanks for your comment.
