p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · lens wiggle?

Picked up a Sigma 150-600 S last weekend and noticed that on both my D7000 and D810 there is a slight amount of rotational movement between the camera and lens. I'd say 0.5-1 mm.

To be clear, this is not the tripod ring, lens barrel, or any other individual component of the lens, it is occurring between the camera and lens at the ring mount.

Called the shop I bought it from, and asked them to try their rental copy of the lens on a D810 and they reported the same issue.

I've taken a couple of hundred shots with this lens so far and have not noticed any issue with IQ..

Is this a problem ?

Normal, might even be a tad less 'movement' than 11 Nikkor
lenses I mount to those same bodys. It's NOT an issue.

@trenchmonkey sjms
Thanks for that - I have been wondering about that too.
Feel better now!

you lens is held on place by a set of leaf type springs.

The only lenses I've used that don't move at least a tiny bit are the F1.8 primes. The bigger, heavier lenses especially almost always have a tiny bit of play at the mount, not an issue.

compared to my nikon 300f4/tc14ii combo the sigma 150-600 c is comparatively rock solid.
there is no noticeable movement with my sigma c whereas the nikon had movement between the lens and tc, plus between the tc and camera body (i used the nikon and tc with three different bodies. also it is my second copy of that lens and both were the same).
