One of those magical moments during the monsoon season at the Grand Canyon
The clouds were down below the rim and appeared to be moving over the ridge line to the east in a
Waterfall of Clouds.

Bob

PS Jim, I was wondering about the cloud on the left and opted to leave it in for no good reason. So, in response to your suggestion I have added a 2nd version - let me know if you all think it is an improvement

I'm loving those frothy clouds enveloping the rock, gives a real dynamic feel to the image and a sort of sinister feel at the same time.

Thanks

Jane

Hey Bob,

That is really special! I think to increase the impact you could crop off some from the left side. Crop off those clouds on the left side so that the only clouds in the scene are the ones falling down the canyon. As it is my eyes keep going back and forth between the clouds and never really are able to focus and enjoy the falling clouds.

Nice, Bob. I like version 2 better, just seems like a better composition.

Hey Bob,

Definitely the crop works so much better. The eyes now focus much better on the cool falling clouds. What do you think? Do you like the crop better?

Both look great but I prefer the first.
Very well done,

Great shot of what must have been an amazing thing to witness. Love how you worked in the river. I prefer the crop.

Thought I preferred the first, then seemed to have a bit of a Freudian slip for the second. So I'd say either.

Beautiful! Both shots are great, but the cropped one is slightly stronger, with a tighter composition. Excellent processing and tonality.

I like both, but agree that the crop is an improvement. I think it focuses the viewer more directly on the waterfall clouds!
