Before we lived in our present townhouse complex, we lived in a house on a small acreage next to a large forest. Each year we would get anywhere from 400-800 Rufous Hummingbirds that would nest and raise their young in the nearby coniferous forest. These Hummers would arrive from Mexico in April and leave our property in July. Having this many Hummers coming to our feeders daily for several years gave me great opportunities to photograph and observe their behaviour.
The old farmer's adage, "Make hay while the sun shines", applies nicely to photographers as well. When you have the chance to photograph wildlife, do not assume you will have a second chance.
Unfortunately, I never had the expertise or patience to use multiple flash to capture better in-flight shots.
Sorry there are so many shots and that you may have seen many of these before.
