ALL SHOTS WERE TAKEN WITH THE ORIGINAL 10MP CANON POWERSHOT G7, RELEASED SEPTEMBER 14, 2006. ALL ARE PROCESSED JPEGs (THE G7 DID NOT OFFER RAW).

It's been a long, long time since I've posted one of these guessing games. Time for another and maybe a few more after this one.

The game is simple: take a guess at which or what kind of camera took these shots. They were all taken by the same camera (guaranteed) and all were shot very recently.

You can guess very broadly if you like, i.e. "I guess Micro Four Thirds," "I guess full frame," "I guess point-and-shoot," "I guess APS-C," etc. or you can try your luck at being as specific as you like, i.e. "Leica X2," Olympus E-M-1," "Canon G1x," etc. You can also just guess at the brand or whether they started out as RAW or JPEG, etc. However you want to play is fine.

I'm pretty sure there's no EXIF data in these processed shots. If there is and you see it, you're automatically disqualified and will be banished from these forums for the next 32 years (of course, I'll have to clear the severity of this punishment with Fred).

Have fun:

A wild guess, a Canon EOS 1D was used for these images...

Yeah, I can see why you'd guess that. Comes pretty close to that "1D look."

But ... nope, it's not the 1D.

Steve, it was the colors and 'grain' that seemed early 1Dish, might these instead be from a much smaller tho rugged body, say like a G series, 10 or 12? I ask because after reviewing some of my G12 shots, then re-reviewing your images the colors/grain are somewhat close.

Then again they could be from an iPhone, I just figured the 'game' is in the 'Canon' forum so perhaps Canon gear in some shape or form is being used

Nevertheless, wonderful images, the first shot on the second page is my fav!

Cheers,
Jerry

The lobby shot looks like it has quite a bit of noise, so I'm guessing small sensor.
Since this is in the Canon Forum, I'll guess a Canon.

Yeah. I'd probably use ear plugs for that shot.

Are people actually guessing Unbelievable, since you can't tell the difference on an internet jpeg. But really, who cares?

Paddles - someone with their first DSLR would take a shot like that testing the camera around the house. APS-C

Coffee Shop - a place frequented by hipsters. MFT

Lobby - only event photographers would take such a photo. FF

Stage - same as above. FF

Town Square - no artsy angles. P&S

Signs - artsy street shot. MFT

Could this cunning analysis have transcended the limitations of web-resolution by examining the meaning behind the image rather than the image itself? Veroman alone knows...

Of course, this cunning analysis failed to note that all images were taken by the same camera.

Yes. "A bit" is the right way to put it. My Leica shows "a bit" of noise, too, under the same circumstances. So don't pixel peep.

It looks almost like a fixed lens camera... G1X, or G1X mark II?

Hmmmnnn...

A lens with very low distortion. Maybe a 24-70 f/4 on a crop body. Possibly a 70D.

Yes, VERY low distortion. But it's not the 24-70 or the 70D.
