I'm not sure I'm more impressed with the image, your persistence and patience or that you have prostate that allows you to sit for 3 hours without leaving the blind at just the wrong moment.
Eric
Thanks, Eric. I can even miss a shot if I am reading a book while waiting.

Thats a dandy, TONY!!!!
So far the only kingfisher image I have taken is not post worthy
Those birds are super difficult to get near!
nicely done
LuckyT
Thanks, Terry. Cordova Beach off Mt. Doug Park at low tide is a good spot to catch them hovering.

A lovely photo Tony. Sitting that long and dong noting is like fishing. At lest it did not get away
Morris
Thanks, Morris. Fishing is a bit more boring.

Tony,
Love this one and, needless to say, i am envious! Colors look spot on. My wife has about 4 of them ---- long distance, or blurred or wrong coloration. But I have got squat!

Mike
Thanks, Mike.

Hey, only three hours? Man I've spent a helluva lot longer and left with a helluva a lot less. Fantastic shot. Sad to say Kingfishers continue to elude me. You should be most proud of this one. Well done.
Fred
Thanks, Fred. Know what you mean. I have often spent 6-8 hours in a blind and got zilch.

Superb image as anyone who tries to get even a decent Kingfisher shot will readily attest.
Talk about persistence, after three hours I'd need another half hour to get up and start walking
Great Shot!
Thanks, Chuck. It is a real bummer getting a cramp at the same time the bird arrives.

Nice shot Tony....if possible try a kayak or small rowboat or canoe next time....worked for me and I used a larger boat.

Geoff
Thanks, Geoff. Not a hope in hell that a boat would work with the KF's around here. Not when using a 400mm and KF nearly fills the frame. Maybe if camo was covering me while in a boat that was not moving.
