With temps over 100 in San Jose, headed to the coast. Shooting sunsets here in the summer is not ideal with the marine layer
& even if some color happens, it's usually after the stacks are in silhouette.
This is my favorite place to shoot on the coast with it's sketchy descent to the beach, the sounds & the intimate feel in the cove. Note to self, return in the winter

Shot some film but with a light kit was able to bring the Sony. Very interested to see how the film comes out but thought I would share this "reference" shot.

Dan,
Darn fine image! Crisp and nice exposure! Some may say that the shadows need more exposure but with the sea mist in the bg, I find the emotion and dramaof the scene excellant! I love my 17mm TS-E and not always use the Shift or Tilt....
Great job. Looks like another Sony shooter!

Hey Dan,

A very nice shot here. That is sure a good way to go cool off.

I don't think the shadows need more exposure. It certainly isn't a mass of black. Instead, the lighting on the rim of those round rocks five form and substance and nice light and dark tones overall.

Dan2,
Yep, I have gone over. Great imager, quirky camera. But it takes all kinds of alt lenses!

Sunny, was the surf foam making you think of a brew? I would recommend an IPA

Jim, it was still pleasant til 8pm. There were probably half-a-dozen other photogs down there when I left.

dalite, I had thought of the lower left but decided that it was "in-context". Since I was shooting with a 35mm, this scene was cropped to comp-framing.

Thanks all for comments

Well, captured, Dan...
I really like the subtly of color: burnt oranges, blues, greens, white surf
all quite sharp, then the haze of the air. Nice
