This image was captured in late June in the back country of the Desolation Wilderness near South Lake Tahoe.

It's a very nice pano scene, but I sure wish so much of the sky was not blown out. Using an ND grad at an angle I think would have been a real help.

Thanks Jim. I actually did use a grad for this scene. There's plenty of detail in the sky, but I let much of it go bright by choice.

That's such a pretty place. And such a tough scene to expose properly. The detail-less sky and water are not working for me.

Thanks. Really nice shot with feeling. I for one am getting tired of the Sony/Nikon ultra perfect look with huge DR or blends of impossible scenes. Nice to see something different. I am certain that the web version does not do this image justice.

Nice scene, well composed and presented. The bright sky works for me, it helps make the shot more of a glimpse in to what the actual experience of being there must have been.

Yeah, it's always nice to see something different and scenes like this quite often will look much nicer printed when the colors are not backlit. For me though, I still would like a little more detail in the sky.

Ha ha, I don't totally know why you posted this photo, but it sure gave me a good laugh.

I appreciate the feedback from everyone. I personally feel that the detail in the sky and water take away from the scene and distract the viewer from the true experience of the scene. The detail is there, although quite bright and practically invisible in the web version.

Being a film shooter,I might have played to Ektar's strengths.
But I still like this for the starkness is emphasizes.
It should be about your experience, vision & interpretation.
Some go for the sat slider or HDR to accomplish that.

I like this interpretation!

Thanks for posting.
