I finished my second article on lens sharpness (outside the image center)
Sharpness II

and I finally published the article comparing the flaring behaviour of my lenses with the light source outside the frame:
Flaring II

I have yet to do the "colour" comparison and would love to hear some suggestions as to how best to compare the colour rendition of my lenses.

If nobody has a suggestion, I will simply do the Caran d'Ache test again, because I don't have a colour checker board.

Because we now have only white outside, my Bokeh rendering comparison has to wait too..

A little heads up on what's to come:
- I bought an xrite colorchecker passport to conduct my comparison on colour rendition
I will go and grab it in a week and do the test right away if nothing gets in my way.

- I bought a first generation Helios 44 with 13 aperture blades (but not the very first red Pi version) and a seemingly new Helios 44-2 that should arrive soon. I will then do a shootout with these three Helios lenses in my collection.

- I will also, hopefully at the beginning of february, get around to set up a messy scene in my living room, to do an indoor (controlled flash lighting) Bokeh scene comparison with my 50mm lens lineup.

No Boke test scene so far, although I did create quite a mess with all the testings I've done..

However, I did start my comparison of the Helios lenses and got quite far with my article:

If I find the time, I'll try to do the flaring and sunstars test tomorrow morning..

I obviously didn't find the time..

But, I added some sample images taken with the silver Helios to the comparison.
Amongst others:

I also recently came into posession of some Leica glass.. and a Leica camera.

If you're curious about these lenses, I wrote an article on each on my blog and will continually add sample images and my personal experience to these.
I just did so for the 90mm Summicron-R and the 50mm Summicron-R, while the 135mm Elmarit-R already has some pretty sample pictures to show.
