p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Slow photo import from memory card in Bridge CC under Windows 10

I recently updated to Windows 10 from Windows 7 x64 without any issues. Tonight I imported about 150 photos from my CF memory card, using a USB 3 memory card reader, into Photosop CC via Bridge CC. I was very surprised at how slow this process was as compared to doing this under windows 7! I didn't time the download, but as this has been my usual workflow for some time, it was very noticeably slower.
The files were from a Canon 5D III. The computer is a system I built about 3 months ago running an I7-4790k processor with 16gb of ram.
I am wondering if anyone else has encountered this and was able to resolve the issue?
Thank you

You were very lucky that's all the problems that you have with windows 10. The other day i updated from windows 7 to windows 10 and after it loaded the computer just kept re-booting and re-booting. Microsoft apparently has "issues" with windows 7 to 10 and the only solution was to re-format the hard drive to like new. It was referred to as "the endless loop" Lucky i had my pic's backed up on 2 external hard drives. All my programs were lost as well as tons of files. I wish i had never heard of windows 10 along with a lot of other people that i met on facebook

yours is somewhat unusual. why do you use bridge instead of just plain old drag and drop? it is faster under any condition. i just use bridge as a lightbox and search too for certain attributes.

check to make sure the proper driver is installed for the USB3 port. they sometimes "slip thru the cracks"

if D&D works fast it is most likely due to Bridge. remove and reinstall.

as to losing tons of files you should know better then to completely trust a full upgrade. programs are easily reloaded implicitly. docs and such should never be left on a working machine and stored as you would your images.

i have updated 15 machines, 5 within my household. so far with only minor issues.

proper planning prevents poor performance.

You are not the first one having problems with Windows 10. During the last time I hear about different issues at least once per day. Obviously, Microsoft released not a completed product and the most issues are because of the incompatibility in the system. I've decided to look into what is going on with Microsoft and create a huge project with some help of experienced IT specialists and writers through this link. The main question is whether Microsoft is still a trustworthy service.

One reason: you can add metadata such as a copyright message on the fly if you wish.

yeah i got that built into my camera. but then so should you.

Bridge has been a good concept product that adobe just doesn't keep up well.

just did 360 combined jpg/nef files 10/90 ratio from a D810 to a spinning HD via a lexar USB3 workflo FR1 reader for SD and the SD card was a sandisk 95MB/s extreme pro 64GB card. it took 3'15" to complete through Bridge cc on Win 10.

Thanks for feedback, I was wondering if others were having Windows 10 issues. I have stopped using Bridge and just dragging and dropping folders. Works fine.
Thanks
