Hi Scott, it seems that the areas of skin directly around the eyes are a little dark in these. Also the lips and eyes seem to go in and out of focus as I go down the set 1/20 and 1/30 of a second shutter speeds may be to slow for the focal length without a tripod and perhaps with an active subject. The first is my favorite and perhaps the softness was what you were after here, but I would like to see it a little sharper.

Thanks Douglas
Tripod just isn't going to happen with all the movement going on. Lucky to get a stationary, pensive moment. But I think the shutter speed is an issue as you said and I think the solution is going to have to be a faster lens indoors and some PS work to lighter around the eyes in the outdoor shot(s)
