Nice set, Paul!

I'm feeling the heron shots over the others - this is from an angle I generally don't see these guys captured at.

Like the first three, Paul. You could fix the horizons on the GBH's. Same problem I get.

Nicely done Paul. I'm not sure about the color of the Goldfinch though - it's different, (slight green tint), from the ones I see around here ~ Ron

Thanks, Ron. I used flash on the goldfinch and it may have picked up a little green from the surrounding leaves.--Paul

Male monarch butterflies have small pouches on their hind wings that contain scent scales called androconia and small brush like structures called hair pencils that can be extended from the tip of their abdomen. Both structures contain pheromones (male scent) used during courtship. The androconial pouches are visible as small swellings on the black veins of the hind wings, and they enable you to recognize males. Carolyn
