I made a little video on how to replace the hard plastic factory wheels on Pelican cases with soft poly wheels for a much smoother ride for your equipment and quieter on sidewalks, inside churches etc.
Anyone else done this?

Cool, I always found the hard ones made a lot of noise on concrete/asphalt

Nice vid- one of my only pet peeves with the Pelican is the noise the wheels make. Might have to try this- thanks!

Things like this are why I don't particularly like Pelican cases. They don't sweat the details, especially when compared to the ThinkTank stuff.

But if you need a hard case, I suppose they're the way to go.

Regardless, cool little hack!

Looks very much like rollerblade wheels to me.

Very similar indeed, but even youth rollerblade wheels are wider than the max 6mm size (adult being even wider).
Tried a pro shop and they measured everything up and had nothing that would work.

Luggage wheels of this exact size are the way to go

Ordered a set of the wheels from Amazon- shipping from China so it says it will arrive end of September. Wish it was sooner so I can try this out!

Yeah they ship from China and take awhile for sure.
I believe mine came in under 2 weeks
The wait is worth it

Got my wheels today. Well, my 1510 case does not have any bearings at all. I was able to chuck the new wheel bearings into my vise and drill out the axle diameter to 1/4" which worked fine. I found that both screws on one wheel mount were stripped from the Pelican factory Replaced the screws with some glue.

Other than that, we're rollin in style now!

Oh wow,
Sorry about that extra work.
Shocked the factory wheels didn't have bearings. Crazy-town

I have two of the 1510 cases. One of them has bearings and the other doesn't. Just ordered a second set of wheels for the other 1510. I'm guessing the first one might be an older model...dunno.
