These were taken on the 24 mile loop, in the Big Cypress area of the Everglades. I am not sure if these are landscape images with birds in the or birds in a landscape, sort works either way.
C&C welcomed. Thanks for looking.
Brian

Some might call them environmental portraits. I'm fond of the second

These are good. The second one is the better of the two, the bird really stands out.

What an incredible place, this pictures make me want to add it to my list of "someday". I like them both for they do give a wonderful sense of place. Perhaps some creative cropping might make them stronger photographs.

Thank you all for your comments. It seems that #2 is the one but personally I prefer #1, maybe #2 was too easy, as I was setting up this image without any bird in it and the bird just popped in and struck this pose.
Tim - not sure what you mean by creative cropping. I mostly have to do some cropping but these images were supposed to be landscapes with birds in them and didn't want to lose any 'landscape'.

I'm with you Brian. #1 is superior to #2. The comp is good, but color/lighting just isn't there in the second one.

Even with the subject centered it works due to the composition and angles of the trees. The big leaf in the foreground is a bit of a distraction and I might have cloned it out.

Close up of birds are great but I try to also show the environment when feasible...Nice job!

Thanks Greg, glad that someone agrees with me. Tried a lot of different processing types with #2 and all, so far, left me disappointed. I try not to do any cloning in my images, as I am trying to realistically depict the landscape. I also drawn to complex images, that an be viewed over and over again, with the possibility of finding something new, hidden in the image.
