p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Tamron A001 70-200 and Canon 60D - ID Issue

Well I purchased a used 70-200 2.8 Tamron A001.

I just noticed that with my Canon 60D it is reporting it as a Sigma 50-300 with 1.4X teleconverter.

I know there is an ID issue with some lenses but I haven't been able to find an article on how to rectify the situation.

Thanks
Rob

It sounds like the chip in the lens should be reprogrammed to produce the code that Canon cameras recognize as the SP 70-200/2.8 (A001). Tamron would be the logical people to ask, but I woundn't be surprised if they take a "hands off" attitude.

It would be interesting to hear from other owners of the same lens, to see if they have the same problem. Can you try it on a different EOS camera?
