A shot from Toccoa Falls, GA
I have been in that area literally a couple hundred times, but this is my first time at the falls.
Question about this shot. . . a bit too dark??

Thanks all!

There are some black voids at the underside of some of the larger rocks, though lightening the overall might put more emphasis on them. A faster or slower shutter, I think might help define some of the waterflow toward the frame bottom.

Waterfalls are tough - communicating 'being there' is not an easy task.

I don't mind the darkness. In fact nice to see without the so often accompanying harshness and crispies from over-sharpening - full coverage of tonal range. Maybe include the upper edge of falls, probably just me but strikes me as something is missing without the upper portion?

Anyway, my opinions,

Regards,

Bob

Hi JR, I like the dark tones in this with good contrast, it appears to me to need a slight anti clockwise rotation though.

Cheers Ray

Toccoa is such a great place, one thing that makes it hard to shoot is to include the top like Bob suggested, the falls themselves become small in the frame...I like the idea of the more intimate shot here. The texture and tones on the rock face of the falls is excellent, the blacks and whites do appear a bit clipped to me...the blacks are not bothersome...

I like the pp and the capture. I just really want to see the top of the falls.

Thanks very much. This was my first time at these falls, and I appreciate the comments.

Thanks Bob. These falls are interesting and I had the idea that a full shot of them would be a bit too vague because of the height and I was using at 16-35. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks Douglass. I was going for a bit of a contrasty scene with this one. I really appreciate the feedback.
