p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · New Zealand Lonely Water Tree

Hi everyone. I just got back from New Zealand for a family vacation. I was able to sneak away a few times as the sky was calling me.
Both images were taken with a A7R + Canon 24-70 lens. I didn't bring regular filters but used my 10-stop Fotodiox ND Throttle to control exposure. I hope you like it. - Fred

Beautiful image. Love the colours and the reflection. The only real suggestion would have been to move over to your right ( if you could ) to move the tree limbs on the far right out of the dark mountain so the tree would have been in full silhouette.

I am a sucker fore lonely trees...throw in some water and a great colorful sky...SOLD! I do agree a bit with Chez about the one branch and the mountain behind it.

How do you like shooting with the A7R and Canon Lenses through an adapter I would assume...I have been debating a change in camera bodies, but don't want to give up my lenses that I have worked so hard to acquire.

Hey Fred,

Welcome back! What beautiful light in these, that is one sweet spot. #1 is my favorite of the two. And how cool with that adapter, I hadn't heard of that one before, but with that adjustable ND that really makes it sweet and functional. I wish there was something like that for the Nikon System.

Fred these are excellent, the tree branch isn't a problem IMO
because if you look at the overall shot the right forest of trees overlaps also.

Great suggestion Chez!
On the first image, I was more towards the right and got a little more silhouette.
Take care,
Fred

I have been shooting with the A7R, Canon and Zeiss lenses for a while now. Once you get used to massive dynamic range a base ISO, it's hard to go back. I mainly use Canon Tilt and Shift lenses when shooting landscape.
