Thanks Harold - and for the links too
got the title corrected meanwhile - it was all about POV; a couple inches to the left or right, and the effect was gone. To make matters worst, the wind was blowing quite a bit, but it might have helped after all

well, outdoors but not out&about - just my sideyard area actually, were I have a pergola/planter combo. pretty much spiderweb heaven with the posts, ivy and other plants
