Sometimes the birds just don't show up, but the bees do.
Spent some time with these little ones .

Your nits and suggestions and comments are really appreciated.

These are great, Birdie. I really like the second and third.

Always glad to see an FM'er where the Birds and the Bees still show up

Hi Birdie...

Your photography always amazes me, but these are definitely "the bee's knees."

Beautiful work!

Thanks

Thanks Morris ! I do like the splash of orange , but maybe cropping about 1/2 the flower out might make it work better. I will play with it, thanks for the suggestion.

All are great, but really love #1 as-is. I think the OOF flower leaves you with a sense the bee just launched from there!

Don't you dare Birdie. The OOF makes the image happen. The flower another world, the bee/insect an explorer.

That has to 'bee'the sharpest and fastest focusing 300 lens of all time Birdie.

These are stunning IF shots, there are many who don't get this kind of sharpness on still subjects (I am one of them).
Exposures are great, PP work is top notch here IMO.
#1 don't touch a thing, great depth top to bottom, the flower under explains the colored glow on the underside of the bee, this has a out of this world feel to it............Love it
#2 crispy sweet!
#3 not sure on all the space above on this one?
#4 fuzzy-licious

Super set Birdie!

Hi Paul ! I'm sure there are many ways to shoot these, but I do the following:
I start with a bee on a flower and focus on it. I just watch the bee and try and anticipate when it is going to fly from the flower. If you watch them often and long enough you can get a feel for their patterns of going a round a flower , etc.
I do my best to follow it when it leaves the flower and approaches another one. Believe me there are more out of focus shots and deleted ones than there are keepers On rare occasion you can get a bee that is hovering above a flower .
