p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Atlantic Station E-Session (16 images)

I posted this in the people forum and got some positive feedback but think it would get more critical feedback on composition, posing and creativity.

I am shooting their wedding in August in Atlantic station as well so I will be incorporating some of he same building elements but in different ways and in different lighting so it will be nice/scary to see how well I can tell a different story with many of the same ingredients.

hope its not too many!

I was a bit worried at first, I really tried to get the couple to meet me out at Atlantic station by 8am or earlier but the bride had hair and makeup trials at 8am so we didnt get started until around 10am. I have to say I was quite surprised by the light at that time and really starting embracing the harsh shadows and directional lighting from the buildings. It's been a long time since i've been happy with a set like this and super excited to shoot their wedding in August.

1. First I wanted to start off in the lobby of the hotel they will be getting married at (Twelve @ Atlantic station)

3. For this one we went down to the bottom of the parking deck stair case and I loved the light coming in from the side.

Playful, fun set! Good job nailing some challenging exposures. Looking forward to seeing some of their wedding images too!

Really nice set! Love the low angle of #2 and the isolation of #10

Looks good. I like 3 and 10 a lot. For 3 I'd probably darken the lower rail a bit more to make them pop even more (the eyes go to the concrete at the bottom a bit too easily I think). 3 would also be interesting to see with a different crop, like a slight tilt to the rail enters from the lower left corner and the wall exits out of the frame at the top right. I'd like to see 8 with them just against the blue sky if that would be possible (e.g., without the clutter behind their lower half, by shooting from a lower angle and up a little closer). You could even do a tight crop on the existing photo that would make it more interesting think. On 9 I think I would have preferred to have them under each of the lamp lights because they get a bit lost against the dark background doorway.
