The first one is perfect. I love the separation, shooting angle and composition. The orange flower is also a nice change from the more common red/pinks/purples. The second is great too, although the flowers feel a little too close to the top of the frame to me. A square crop on #2 might work well.

Thank you very much. I will give the crop another go.

Very nice work Birdie! Your patience paid off I kind of like the fade away to blur of the body in the first one, it draws my eye to the head of the bird and flower.

Tim

Tim, thanks so much. Glad you like it.

The first has great potential. I agree with Jim something is missing. A very quick redo. Hope this helps.

A gorgeous pair of pictures. I love the slower shutter speed allowing for motion in the wings. Again, greats shots.

Thank you. I appreciate it.

I think this shot is over the top awesome Birdie. I think you have the base file that with a bit more work up will be a wall hanger! This shot has a very 3D type of light, a wonderful under light and rim light and a nice fill. Your detail here is mind boggling at f4.5! This is one of the best I have seen on hummers

#1 I think is all about pulling down the BG light level, that will give more depth and separation for the subject. The BG IMO is too powerful for the nice smaller

Karl, thanks so much for the detailed comments and the kind words. Now , let me try and work as you suggest. First I have to figure out how to do it
