Even after latest ACR update I have to admit Cannon DPP converts a slightly cleaner file with better color. I had found ACR as good or better with my earlier cameras but not this one. I till use PS for editing.

I haven't used dpp In years, but I thought it sharpened cleaner than acr ... but I just do everything in ps ... skipping acr. good to hear dpp still seems well @ native algorithm ... go figure.:-)

the way I see it is 'horses for courses' . the great thing about a RAW file is you can process it more once .

so for speed and ease of efficiency I would do nearly all raw files thru LR/ACR , but on the odd occasion something warranted that little bit 'extra' then DPP would be the natural place to take it . Its not really a surprise that the people the designed the RAW file would also know how to get the best from it .
but for everything I would find DPP a real pain to use .
