I indulged myself with a Canon 5DsR and have been seeing what the high resolution sensor can do. It works exceptionally well with the MPE-65 BUT you need to go back to your old physics books to relearn about diffraction. I can't take the MPE-65 beyond F10 without getting quite significant diffraction effects.

This fly is very heavily cropped (about 10% of the total frame). The fly itself was about 3 mm long. I am still learning how to use this beast optimally, but so far my feelings are positive.

You have indulged yourself !
Be interested how it works out for macro shots.

Yes, Ed.

The old enemy, diffraction. It seems to me that all you can do about lens diffraction, assuming the lens is of high quality, is to choose one with a near-circular diaphragm, so that intrusive angles of blades don't produce diffraction sooner that necessary. I can't sat that I have been in the position to do that.
