I'm not exactly sure if this is the correct forum. These are the ice caves in the Langjokull glacier that were opened two weeks ago. They're man made, so I'm putting the pictures here.

Just outside the caves

The entrance to the caves

A deep crevice with some fancy lighting

Cold corridor with warm lighting

The lines are the layers of the glacier as it grew over the millenia.

That is interesting and nice capture. What is the purpose of the cave? Tourism or for reasearch?

Primarily the purpose is tourism as the fancy lighting shows. But they do do some research too,as these caves are likely to be stable for a decade or so. You can get an idea of the volcanic history of the area in the layers of the glacier so they extract some of it and analyze it.
