Wow, Roger and LensRentals.com are truly great; helping a competitor recover.

Impressive.

It seems that LensProToGo had slack security.

They should release a list of items and serial numbers, so people looking on Craigslist or ebay can spot the stolen gear.

This was a pretty big haul, involving multiple people and possibly multiple vehicles. If these clowns have even 1 braincell, they won't be stupid enough to try selling on CL or US/Canada Ebay. More than likely the gear will end up being sold overseas.

Sooner or later, some poor fool will get arrested for possession of a stolen camera, having thought he got a good deal. Doubt the ones directly responsible will ever be caught. :/

I'd be looking at ex-employees. This seems to have been pretty well orchestrated. And with surveillance cameras being as cheap and ubiquitous as they are now, why wasn't this place covered by them - or was it?

They've posted the serial numbers of the stolen items:

Another great camera shop about 10 miles down the road from LensProToGo, was also broken into that night. E.P. Levine is my go to camera shop locally, great folks super knowledgeable.

Sounds like they may have had a list to fill, I'm sure all the stuff ended up on a container headed overseas.

From the Boston Globe....

"In the other case, Waltham police responded to a burglar alarm at EP Levine, a store on Bear Hill Road that sells camera equipment, at about 12:45 p.m. on Sunday. The store, which is just 10 miles from the Concord store, was closed and no one was inside.

Officers found pry marks and damage to one entrance, said Waltham Police Sergeant Joe Guigno.

One of the store owners, Jay Callum, said the burglars were “fairly brazen.” They used a torch to cut open a metal door used as a rear emergency exit.

While the company is still conducting an inventory, it does not appear anything was stolen, Callum said.

“The burglar got in, but it looks like they were scared off by the alarm before they did anything else,” Guigno said.

While it is unclear if the two incidents are related, “it’s certainly something we’re looking at,” O’Connor said.

Callum said it could be a coincidence that both break-ins occurred on the same weekend at two camera stores just a few miles apart, but “it smells fishy.”"

My guess....they actually hit the Levine store first. Then hit LensPro once they got scared off at Levine.

Had they been determined to clear out 2 stores, they would've found another after being scared away from Levine, had they gone there after LensPro. They used a torch....they were determined and on a mission.

Gears probably on a ship to Russia.

Seems weird that they have just plain glass between the street and their stock?

Never seen a rental company without bars, shutters, cages or very serious doors.

Normally it is a condition of your insurance.

Wow, that has to be the largest photo gear loot in history.

Agree, if I had that much gear it would be behind several layers of security.

Even so this is a despicable act and most likely the thieves had some inside information.
