p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Need recommendation for a tall and sturdy boom stand

Hi

I am currently using this manfrotto stand and arm, but the arm is not strong enough, and it gets a little scary when mounting a Einstein with stripbox

Any recommendations for a better one?

Thanks
Yitzy

If budget is not limited I suggest:

There are also two taller versions of these stands as well.

This is what I bought many years ago and have never had an issue, I've even put an Elinchrom Octa bank with Profoto mono light on it in the studio.

Thank you all for you replies.

I'm currently using the manfrotto 007BSU stand, and the manfrotto 085BSL Arm

Looking for a stand at least as tall (10.6') sturdy and portable
And a much stronger arm that can easily hold a monolight (Einstein/Bowens) with large stripbox.

Avenger products look very good

How is that arm?
that stand is a bit low, what is the taller version? A5034?

TIA

Yitzy,

The D600 is a very popular boom and plenty heavy duty enough for your application. I have one and love it. A lot depends on how mach adjusting you'll be doing and whether you'll have a ladder or step stool. As previously mentioned, the Redwing is also very nice if you have the money.

If you are typically going to use it like in the picture you posted you don't necessarily need a really heavy duty rolling stand. I recommended the Avenger because it's a great stand and will serve multiple uses and last a life time. You could also use a well well C-Stand.
