I've grown up watching this bird on whitewater creeks and rivers in Oregon and across the West. It is North America's only aquatic songbird, getting all of it's food from rushing clear water streams. They generally fly inches above the water and will swim and walk along the bottom in search of invertebrates. Went camping for Memorial Day weekend in the Oregon Cascades and there was a dipper nest across the river from our campground. I spent a couple hours shooting the parents coming and going with food. Enjoy.
