The arch is indeed very ancient technology. I like the shadows and grain of your shot Marj.

Great idea for the assignment – very fitting. You did very well to isolate the arch from the rest of the structure.

Great framing on this on Marj. The B&W and "grain" texture helps to create an "ancient" feel. Great idea!

Nice grainy feel in this, Marj. I like the look of the form and space, with the 3d illusion this has. Mike

Like the simplicity of this structural marvel Marjorie, very nice post processing accentuates the ancient effect!

Thank you all! I do appreciate the comments. I had so many ideas once I got started that I am still having problems stopping. It is very nice to see an idea actually turn out. This was my first try at adding grain. The lines were there (even though I almost had to stand on my head to get them) but it was a smooth surface. The light gave me a few things to work with and I really appreciate the hint for the B&W. I love simplicity - and it is scary that I am starting to like B&W for strength (some times). I had a cool one with boats through the arch but decided it just did NOT do it! I LIKE simple!! Again, thanks very much - I get so many ideas from everyone. If I could just put them all together. Now - if I can just STOP thinking ancient technology! .
