wow... immensely expansive and desolate... those are what I conveyed from your images.

however, basketball goals, electric light bulb, and railway... technology does have long reach to improve the living conditions!

Love the loneliness and isolation that's portrayed here.

I'd love to more about the story of why you went there in winter. I know why I'd go, but I'd love to hear about you! I like the simple compositions that really showcase the harsh conditions and big skies. A fun series to check out, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful series I've tried doing some winter photography but my hands just can't handle the cold.

In general my way of travelling is to go directly to [safe] places that nobody recommends. Everyone goes to Mongolia in summer, so I go there in winter When I travel to cities, I often cross off places that people recommend and then go to the rest.

Photography is all about "be there" for me -- I just like finding things or perspectives that that other people don't usually see, and try to capture them in pictures.

It helps to have glove liners in addition to proper winter hiking or ski gloves. The glove liners usually bought me about a minute of time each time before I had to put my hand back in the glove, which was usually enough to get every shot I needed.

Also, I didn't have to take off my gloves for all the shots. Since I use only vintage manual focus lenses, they're all calibrated perfectly for infinity, which helps a lot for shooting landscapes in the cold. No need to fiddle with buttons or anything.

I also posted a series to boredpanda with some descriptions of what's going on in the pictures:
