Facebook rep is misreading License as "ownership." The way she states it, I could go to the NFL Page, download a few awesome photos and claim it as my own and say I'm a professional sports photographer. Which, obviously, is absurd.

If they signed something staying you could do that... Go right ahead.

You sign away almost all rights to anything on FB, but that is mostly a move to cover their ass.

They may not own it, but they are free to do basically whatever they want with it. Again, mostly to cover for a bug/mistake but also to make sure that they are covered (legally) for cases like this.
