This was next to a rough path through the desiccated, semi-desert-like Maquis of NW Corsica.
There were lots of dry grass stem, twigs and suchlike at about knee height. These provided perched for the insects but clutter the OOF background.
This is one of the locations where I found the 300mm (600mm equivalent) reach of my Olympus 4/3 70-300mm AF very useful.
These are uncropped, some cropped slightly to tightly in the framing. All shot at ISO 200, 1/320 f6.3, 1/100f11, 1/100 f11, 1/125 f11 in sunlight, focal length 300mm.
The colouration, especially of the veins of the wings, suggest that this is an immature male of the Yellow-winged Darter Sympetrum flaveolum
