We have shot newborns before but we are not newborn photographers by any means. Among other things, we still have a lot to learn on newborn wrapping, posing, etc. When I watch some of the Youtube clips on newborn posing, I am just amazed how cooperative some of those newborns seem to be! In our case, either we were doing something wrong, or our son simply refused to cooperate and leave his arms/feet where we wanted them to be, even at his sleep I even installed and used Sound Sleeper app on my iPhone (thanks to a Lisa Holloway tip I'd read somewhere). While it is a pretty cool app and does seem to soothe the baby, we still did not have much luck during this photo shoot.
Anyway, we did a quick backdrop and lighting setup in our living room (as shown in the first picture below), and took a few shots. A single light inside a huge 4x6' softbox was used camera right (slightly tilted over the baby), together with a fill reflector on the left.
Would appreciate any C&C, particularly from newborn photogs around here; any feedback that could help us improve... Thanks for looking...
