I dunno - at least I was gonna agree with you, but the more I looked at it the more I like it as shot.

If you included the whole umbrella and some extra space I think it might be this less interesting.

My nit would be dudeman walking in the background to the right of her hand.

The nit @ left vs. right pales against the spattered / dappled light on her nose / mouth for me.

Thanks Kent. I was wondering what others thought about that.
I don't really like the dappled light either. Then I take a look at the parasol and it seems inevitable/natural unless she were in full shade.

What strategy would you use and would you preserve some of the dappling?

Maybe a mix of spot healing brush and clone stamp. Alternately, convert original to lab mode and work on a luminance layer? Once you have a version without dappling, you can blend the two to compare with/without/ and partial dappling. Personally, I feel it works better without much dappling because the dappling seems mostly confined to her face.
