Hmm, that seems vaguely familiar. Count on you to find the best place to be when that lighting hit! Wonderful capture. Jim.
Dave
Ha ha, I bet Dave. It's too bad that even though we were probably only a 100 yards a part, that with all those rocks in between us there was no easy way for me to get your attention.
Thanks!

That is the sweetest water shot that I have ever seen. I would be tempted to crop it a little tighter just to have more of that great light filling the frame. Great job.
Thanks so much Kevin. I haven't tried it yet, but you read my mind! After I was all done with this I was thinking that perhaps a tighter crop could be cool too. I caught a few of these wave splashes while the sun was still at that angle, so I might try a crop on one of those.

Luck goes to the prepared.
Backlighting at sunset, golden!!
Dan
Hey Dan,
I am glad you liked this! And yes, being prepared is so important, but also familiarity. It's a good reason why we should revisit locations. I knew there was a chance that the sun could backlight this, and when I went back to this after leaving Dave to shoot more into the actual sun at a spot he liked, I was not disappointed.
