This is a great lens. I had my hands on one for a few days. The good about this lens is plenty.

1. Very Sharp at 15mm and even at f/2.8.
2. Pretty good VC. No problem shooting at 1/4 sec and occasional 1/2 shots.
3. Warm and saturated color with good micro contrast.
4. Good extreme corner performance.

The things which made me not keep the lens were.
1. Really heavy and really fat. I have GPS dongle on my D810 in the ten pin slot and this lens pushes it off.
2. Very prone to flare, not just from Sun, but from street lights as well.

I would upload pictures but my photo upload privilege has expired.

I think a wide and fast FX lens is going to be heavy and fat no matter what.

I'd like to see what this is selling for used - not that much cheaper than the Nikon f/2.8 wide lens used...

It is fatter than Nikon 14-24.

Is this one new? I'm just switching over to FX

Hmmm...would be interesting to see the two together then. The 14-24 is a healthy beast... The extra range would probably be nice...

I took over 200 shots that day mid-day sun and no flare on any shots. I don't find it heavy at all in fact I hardly even noticed it. My only complaint is the front cover is huge. I didn't have to do any distortion correction at all.

I was looking at getting this lens last week but all the stores I looked at didn't have any in stock.

They're hard to find. I bought mine at Ritz and are in stock.

Those images look very good to me. Nicely done, Vindex.

I just got my 15-30 a couple of weeks ago and haven't had a chance to do anything with it. Your shots made me quite happy with my purchase. Seems that the lens is up to it, now I just have to see if my skills are.

I had not thought of them. I got the Nikon 16-35 and am pretty happy so far though

The 14-24 looks small in comparison.

Dont get me wrong. It is a great lens. Size is a secondary characteristic for most..

Don't you know that you can't take great pictures with the D 700. That's old technology and low mp. If I move up to fx the D 700 is one of the cameras that I would consider.
The color of the strawberries in #1 is great.

Haha yes it's old and been passed up it's mine and the old timer does an amazing job more than I need. Nikon hit it out of the park with this one.

I considered it when I entered the world of Nikon. I bought it, its a great camera. Its going to be a sad day when this camera dies and i'll have to replace it.
