The Juncos are singing away each morning and yesterday they perched in some great locations for photographs. I also found a Merlin (first time I've photographed one) perched on a tree. It didn't let me get very close so that is a heavy crop.

The juncos are far far from junk and the merlin is magic Geoff....I always thought the Yukon was desolate before you started posting on this site...I guess Sgt. Preston had a good gig going, who knew?

Congrats on the Merlin Geoff. We have a couple living in our suburban neighbourhood and I have plenty of long distance shots but nothing this clean. They're wickedly fast in flight and the songbirds clam up and hunker down when they drop by...

Congrats on that Merlin. I've never seen one myself. And that first Junco shot is probably the finest Junco photo I've ever seen. What a great shot.
