I'm thinking of going up to the North Cascades National Park in Washington state in a month or so to photograph the Milky Way. I drove the highway last summer during the day. Does anyone know if the night skies are generally cloud free during May and June?
Thanks

Hi Norm

May and June are very unpredictable in western Washington. If you are coming any distance your time might be totally wasted, or you could be fortunate and have clear skies. However, it is not unusual to have six weeks of continually fine weather from mid July to late August, when high pressures sets in and just stays. It's a glorious but short lived summer.

Good luck

Tim
