p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Small light stand

I'm shooting a wedding in Austria in 2 weeks and I really want to bring 2 o 3 light stand but I want to be able to pack it in my suitcase and I need a stand thats pretty small folded, the smallest that I found is 3 feet, that a bit large for my suitcase. Any idea of anything smaller? I need to be around 29 inches.

Thanks

These have a 5-year warranty and there is a guy from the company that will respond to stuff here on FM. The carrying strap is a nice touch too. This is my main light stand for on-location, small flash work.

Instead of a lightstand, you might want to consider a Justin Clamp –  http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/349147-REG/Manfrotto_175F_1_175F_Justin_Spring_Clamp.html

You can clamp a speedlite to a DJ stand, door frame, etc.

The manfroto nanostands (aka 5001b) and their comparable knockoffs are pretty good. They aren't very tall but it's better than nothing. I can fit two of them with shoe mounts attached and a pair of 33" double fold umbrellas in a pelican case along with all of my speedlites (three) and my backup body (5dmk2 w/24-70 2.8).

I also have a justin clamp and that has come in handy many times. If you angle it right you can even mount an umbrella to it. But I wouldn't rely on it alone as you never know what you're going to walk in to and there may not even be a place to clamp it.
