Wacky roger
I guess there was more than enough to go around so the competitive juices weren't flowing.

And the vulture is saying "I prefer my meat well aged in the hot sun" while the eagle says "Na - I prefer mine a little fresher". A neat shot Eric ~ Ron
Thanks Ron...they do like them raw but aged differently

Neat shots, Eric. They were probably posing for you.
I wish I had that power.

That is an interesting pair Eric. Good image.

Geoff
Thanks Geoff, it was quite unusual to see them in such proximity...I've seen them at the same kill site but not typically sharing a common perch.

Yes, they do like to come and clean up the dirty work.

That tawny looks very scrawny! So which one thinks the other will BE supper? In the end the scavengers always win. Nice shot.
Don
I do think they both act as scavengers...I've rarely seen tawnys on their own kill...much like Bataleurs...

Very cool Eric, you don't see that every day, or any day (except one) for that matter Well done
Tim
Hey Tim, always a pleasure to see your name pop up and so true...I don't think I've seen these two hang together in the past.

Nice captures of a strange pairing. In the Everglades I have seen Vultures fly near Ospreys and the Opsreys hate them and chase them off by bombarding the Vultures screeching with talons stretched out. Since Ospreys are similar to Eagles, it is surprising to see this Eagle so casual next to a Vulture.
In general I would expect them to show animosity towards one another but sometimes circumstances allow for a more civil relationship.
