p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Leaf Shutter and Yongnuo 560 II?

Anyone know if the X100 or Ricoh GR can sync with the 560s at, say, 1/800 or 1/1000? I have the Yongnuo radio triggers to go with them, but could probably run a cable from the hotshoe too. I don't think they have optical slaves. I've been tasked to do a lot of fitness shoots and I wanted to explore more fast movement with my strobes, but definitely not looking to buy HSS-compatible strobes for my 5D2 for just this...

Been wanting an X100 or Ricoh anyway so was considering this as an option..Perhaps 1/250 (max sync speed on my 5D2) would be fast enough to catch a person in a jump -- I'll have to test that tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

The hotshoe pin pattern on my X100T seems to match Canon's and works to fire my 600RT flashes in EXT M mode with the flash doing it's own metering. Also with my Yongnuo RT controller on the X100T in legacy mode it will fire multiple Canon RT flashes.

The 560 cannot HSS, but can do off-camera hi speed sync this way:

The X100s (and am sure the X100 as well) can sync at hi speeds with strobes, here's a short description:

As mentioned, the pinout of the Fujis works with the Canon mount strobes. I use mine with canon-based Chinese slaves and Yongnuo and Metz flashes successfully.

Awesome! Thanks for the help. So I suppose I could use the flash attached to my Fuji, Ricoh (or even Sony A6000) to trigger the slaves then? Appreciate the links and help here.

The Yongnuo triggers only work up to 1/640th. Cybersyncs will work all the way up to 1/2000th.

The RX100 also has a leaf shutter and is IMO a more versatile camera over the X100 and GR. And it can do 10FPS

I can get around 1/1000 out of the x100s + cactus V5 + LP180. I don't expect your results would vary much with the 560.

Just remember you will always be limited by the flash duration, higher shutter speeds than this just chop off more and more of the flash.
