Some of you may recall I built a floating blind last year. I tethered it to the shore and it worked great for getting low shots. Problem was my pond is about 80 yards across, so it only worked if the ducks were close. So I thought I would float the blind into the middle of the pond for shooting. Good idea but not so easy. The blind works like a sail; impossible to control. Even when I did get out a distance an anchor was useless. Anyone need an anchor?!! Then I thought one of those small electric motors would work! Not so much. Anyone want an electric boat motor?!!!!! So then I just attached ropes front and back and pulled myself into the pond, tied the ropes tight and I am set. And the birds aren't spooked if I go slow.
Enjoy my latest shots and thanks for looking.
More tales to come!
