I would title this Deathbed.

My same unfortunate avian friend from the WA last week, just a bit more up close and personal.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Jeff

For really creepy, hang the carcass from a piece of string... with a hangman's noose, in a dark corner with a peek of light on the carcass.

Or, would that cross the line into scary?

Perhaps psychotic!

I like it! I was going to suggest a knife and fork on each side but I think that might become psychotic and sick.

Have you looked at a really tight crop on this? I wonder if it would put more emphasis on the creepy corpse.

Now that is spectacular. Did you pose the bird or is it as discovered?

I would be inclined to crop in a little tighter, to remove the shadow from frame-right and what's below the sill at the bottom.

This would also work really well if you added a raven's egg, eyes of a crocodile, and testicles of a newt. Maybe even a cauldron.

You know, there have been mornings I felt just like that!

Thanks Dave! I looked at a tighter crop but it just didn't "feel" right overall, if that makes sense.

Good point - if there was anywhere for a fiend to be it would be one of these places.

While I'm all about birds, I definitely didn't touch or pose this guy - that's kinda nasty!

I really like the bottom sill for balancing and framing. I feel the right-hand side is necessary because otherwise the comp would be too centered and that doesn't work with the subject's pose IMO.

Ahaha no witch's brew for me, thanks!

But seriously, thanks for the feedback everyone.

Jeff
