That's gorgeous, Kent.
Beautiful light, color. Just enough sense of motion and I like the direct attention. Where are you in this scene?
And mind sharing the EXIF?

Thanks Scott,

Just went out to play for a few to see if I could catch some sunset rays before all the light was gone.

Exif is ISO 800, f8, 1/200 (just set it @ AV Priority and pushed the button).
Rebel T5i, Sigma 150-600 Contemporary

I'm actually sittin' on the bed rails of my truck, parked across the street. Not sure @ distance across corral ... guessing 75 yards as the horse came my way to check me out. My first equestrian outing with this combo.

Full size, it's a touch softer than I'd prefer, but that's mostly on me for gun-slinging with poor technique.

Too early to tell, I really have only taken a few "run & gun" shots and shot it with lousy technique so far, really leaning VERY HEAVILY on the stabilization system. So, that's really not a very good basis for evaluating.

Right now I've got both the Canon 100-400 II and the Sigma 150-600 (can't afford to keep both), so I plan to do some side by side test shots with / without TC to compare IQ vs. performance vs. reach vs. handling, etc. ... but I've been very busy with a project (actually 2 projects that unexpectedly came up) that has really rendered my time such that I haven't felt like giving proper diligence to a comparison. In the meantime, I'm just doing some grab shots to get a crude feel for it.

The one thing I can probably say about it is that my technique has impacted my results more than I care to admit. Stabilization is nice, but I've gotten lazy about my technique with it, and it shows in my keeper rate @ gun-slinging.

Looking at the spec, kinda wish the Sigma was on my radar (and out) when I decided to buy the Tammy. Looks like same weight, range. I am guessing similar IQ, but the Sigma takes a TC and has that neat docking thing. Build sounds good.
I have the older 100-400. Sounds like the newer is better and while both take a TC, I am not sure how that works out in terms of autofocus on a consumer or prosumer model.
Good luck with your projects.
Scott

+1 @ that neat docking thing ... I don't have one, but someone reported that the stabilization works better after using the docking system. I'm clueless atm about what / how it works, but am aware that it is a piece of the puzzle. Kinda like how a Canon TC should be a piece to go along with the new 100-400 II.

Great shot, Kent! With that lighting I'm totally fine with a hint of softness.

Great capture Kent! Love the light and action.

I can't swing it right now but that siggy is on my radar and will probably be my next wildlife lens.
I'm liking what I've seen so far from real work images people have posted.

Thanks guys,

Sorry, I've been off the radar with a two projects.

Yes, I have the contemporary "C" version, not the "S" Sports version.
