Too early to tell, I really have only taken a few "run & gun" shots and shot it with lousy technique so far, really leaning VERY HEAVILY on the stabilization system. So, that's really not a very good basis for evaluating.
Right now I've got both the Canon 100-400 II and the Sigma 150-600 (can't afford to keep both), so I plan to do some side by side test shots with / without TC to compare IQ vs. performance vs. reach vs. handling, etc. ... but I've been very busy with a project (actually 2 projects that unexpectedly came up) that has really rendered my time such that I haven't felt like giving proper diligence to a comparison. In the meantime, I'm just doing some grab shots to get a crude feel for it.
The one thing I can probably say about it is that my technique has impacted my results more than I care to admit. Stabilization is nice, but I've gotten lazy about my technique with it, and it shows in my keeper rate @ gun-slinging.
