I just got home from my vacation and it's time to start posting again! I have a second set of photos I took with Emma and Annika by using colored gels.

There are more pictures in Flickr.

The light in the final photos is a bit weird but I kinda like it Especially the skirt looks cool. All suggestions for improvement are welcome! This stuff is heavily influenced by Geoff Jones (http://www.threevisual.com.au).

These are very good. Like the gel effect. #4 and #5 are the standouts to me.

Hi Ville,

Assuming you wanted critique, these don't work for me at all. Harsh light. Excessive clarity enhancement against such a neutral, soft background.

They feel like abrupt composites along with unflattering light on the models.

Respectfully,

Chuck

elorablue, Thanks for the comments! #4 and #5 are also my favourites

nolaguy, Thank you for your critique! I am not exactly sure what you mean by harsh since the light sources are not that small. The images are not composites and the clarity adjustment is minimal. But maybe the opposite colors make such effect. Do you have any simple suggestions how to improve the points you said? Other than removing the secondary color

I think these look great VilleK. I bet the models were very happy too.

I like the second set best and although the colours are unexpected, they work very well.

I don't think the lighting is harsh. I think it is crisp and clear, with lovely shallow but soft roll offs - quite a difficult thing to achieve and requires quite a bit of precision and placement.

No.s 4 and 5 are my favs. If I was to tweak anything I'd have a little look at the slight line under the model's chin in image 5. Don't need to lose it, but perhaps blend it out a little to match the smoothness of her overall complexion.

Lovey images.

Thank you for the comments! The line below the lover lip in the 5th image is already blended a bit. As this is a feature of her face I didn't want to remove it. But maybe I was a bit too careful with it

I often tend to stay within my comfort zone so it's nice to hear that some people like the results when I'm out there doing stuff that's unfamiliar for me

I don't get the negative critique. I think the coloured gels are balanced pretty much as good as they can be.

I dig that first triptych. She looks like she's having fun
