I drove over to Eugene this morning and came across a flock of Turkeys gobbling and posturing.....after all, it is Spring! I stopped along the road and clicked a few....

Very nice Jim. Looks like you were shooting in a vineyard. Did you get a taste? ~ Ron

I think it was a small private vineyard, not a commercial affair.....Maybe they raise Turkeys too!!

They are pretty impressive birds that I usually only see on my dining room table I like the 2nd one with the tail in full display.

Now that's what I'm talkin about! Nice birds Jim. #2 for me. Maybe clone out the tails on both sides?

Where are their beards? They look too big to be jakes

Hi Jim, really nice and sharp shots. I really like number 2 and 3. The composition in the 3rd shot with both birds is really nice. I was actually pointed to your pictures by arbitrage as I have a post looking for insight on why my brand new Combo of the canon 7D mk II CANON 400MM DO IS version 1 and canon 1.4x extender version III were not yielding sharp results. Your pictures seem fantastic and it looks like you used the same combination of the 7D mk ii canon 400mm DO IS and the 1.4x III at relatively slow shutter speeds 1/400 1/320 and 1/500.

Were you on a tripod? And if not then would you have some insight on what shutter speeds you typically use with this specific combination. This is my only canon gear as I was hoping to have something handholdable with decent reach. You thoughts on my post would be truly appreceated https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1358579

Sorry if this message was better PM'd as opposed to posted on this thread.
