Doing a bit of PP trial with Nic Collection and Camera Raw

Thoughts and comments welcome

First Photo "Trent" is the one I felt was the best composition

Second is more of an upper Body of my son.

I am looking at this on an iPad mini so it could be the equipment, but the first image looks hazy. It is a good action capture. I like it.

first is a good action shot
"Nic Collection" gives some saturated colors!

I also use a 60D but with a 100-400 (original)
here's some lacrosse shots I've taken with that setup - http://www.flickr.com/photos/cnu_sports

Find backgrounds that are less distracting.

I would have liked to have seen the frames after this one...this kid is going to beat that defender I am guessing....and there's drama in that.

My first suggestion beyond the basics of photography is you want to photograph action, peak action.

Curious question:

From the EXIF Data

Shutter 1/1000
F 9
ISO 640

Why those settings? Why F9? My only assumption would be to combat sunlight?

The shutter can do 1/8000th of a second, and 100 ISO. I would drop your ISO to the lowest shoot your 70-210 lens at the lowest aperture and crank that shutter speed up.....
