But what's inside?

All feedback welcome!

Cheers,

Lighting...texture...location...processing...? All work...

cutting off the top of the door? Does not work...

If space did not allow me to back up I would have shot this in vertical...maybe even used a tripod and attempted to stitch two shots together for a wider composition...

cool place though.

Tony,

I'm curious as to why the top of the door and a vertical crop are such show stoppers for you.

Whatcha got?

Jeff

To me the shot seems "clipped" like the top of the photograph was cut off with a paper-cutter....an incomplete composition...like the lid is off and the contents are floating off the page. The door frame, if included, would provide a natural frame...a border that would lead my eye to 'beyond'... When I view a doorway I see it in it's entirety...it's just how I take it in.

The vertical orientation was only suggested as a way to include the top of the doorframe. I have no issue with a horizontal orientation-if it was shot wide enough to include the full doorframe.

More importantly-I dig the *feel* of these, the balance of tones and the exposure. All of *that* stuff is working really well, not just in this shot but in the others from the same (?) location. It was just this one particular shot the door frame (lack of) stood out to me...

I think Anthony's comments are well-taken.
I really like the subject, lighting, texture, detail but it also feels a bit cut off at the top.
That nit aside, I think it is very well done and wish I had taken it

Ahhhhh, I'm seeing it now - the door almost seems miniature or half height.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
