p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Opening PS images *in order*

Did a web search to avail.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why Photoshop (using CS6) doesn't open images in any specific order.

I usually open around 80 images at a time.

I am primarily a destination wedding photographer, it is so frustrating with the haphazard way PS opens images. If they were to open in order, it would make my image selection (and PP much more efficient)

Any thoughts?

Aloha

Name them sequentially, i.e., XYZ Wedding 0001, XYZ Wedding 0002, etc. and they will open in that order.

Thanks, but they are already named sequentially out of the camera (IMG_0345, IMG_0346, etc), why should I have to go to the trouble of renaming them?

Beats me, the naming convention I listed works for me. What happens if you remove the underscore?

Not sure... but I would hate to have to rename all of my files.

I will try a sample

thx!

I just tried renaming some files with an underscore and they still opened sequentially. How are you selecting the files for opening?

Easy, tiger

I'll take images opening out of order (although now I got it figured out) over a machine that gets slower with malware over time *any* day...

regards!

What is this "malware" of which you speak? Want to compare PS benchmarks?

Let's just stop there, OK?

Yes... stop we must (speaking in Yoda voice).

But as far as PS, with my fusion drive in my i7 and RAM maxed, my images open *blazing* fast. Just sayin'

Have a great day
